The Algal Bloom started in late 2017 as the result of material written by Jon and Sam over the course of playing together for over 10 years. To accurately portray the vision in mind for the songs the band was set up with the intention of getting a potentially disastrous number of musicians to make a wonderful noise together, thus The Algal Bloom, a 7 piece band of wildly eclectic players, was born.
THE MOON opened in April 2017, brought to you by a new non-profit organisation CREATIVE REPUBLIC OF CARDIFF who plan to rejuvenate Cardiff's live music & creative culture. It was set up by a group of former staff of the recently closed Full Moon.
