Brass Band
Muker Silver Band is based in the small village of Muker in Swaledale, and has been at the heart of the local community for well over 100 years...
While some members travel from Richmond and Wensleydale, there is still a strong sense of local identity and association with Muker village, and the band plays regularly in the village for community events. The band has a wide ranging membership, with players aged 15 to 79. Some players have been with the band for over 60 years, others have joined the banding world at a much later stage in their lives, learning to play after retirement.
With a busy annual schedule Muker Silver Band plays regularly in the Dales, Richmond and further afield. The band has undertaken a number of overseas tours in recent years and have played in Holland, Luxemburg, Germany (Aachen and the Rhineland) and Ireland.
We will play our annual Easter Sunday concert on the village green weather permitting, or in the village hall if wet.
