Live Performance
Brass Band
New Forest Brass is a dedicated group of brass players of all ages drawn from all walks of life. We rehearse in Hounsdown, Totton, near Southampton. We are a contesting brass band who will be in the third section of the West of England region from 2018.
New players are always welcome to come along, although we would be particularly interested in filling the positions shown as vacant. If you would like to join us, then please contact us or come to a rehearsal.
We also have a training band for beginner brass players. All players of any age and any standard are welcome to come and learn how to play a brass instrument and to enjoy playing in the company of others. More information can be found on our training band page!
We perform regularly in the Southampton and New Forest area.
We rehearse from 7.30 to 9.30 on Tuesday evenings, at Hounsdown School, Jacob's Gutter Lane, Hounsdown, near Totton, SO40 9FT.
This is a traditional public park situated on the west side of town. Beautifully maintained, it was created in 1920 from a 5 acre meadow, surrounded on three sides by the River Test.
Perfect for a stroll or to sit and enjoy one of the regular concerts in the Bandstand, the parks facilities include a cafe, lawn bowls club, fishing, formal gardens, inclusive children’s playground, tennis courts, toilets and seating. The tennis is free and the cafe lend out rackets and balls.
Bandstand concerts take place on Sundays throughout the summer.
