The Belmont Male Singers, Swansea, were formed in 1964. They were known then as the Brian Morris Singers.
In 1971 the choir appeared on the Thames television talent show Opportunity Knocks.
They were voted into second place both by the studio audience and the national vote. They appeared at the Royal Festival Hall in London the following year.
In 1986 the choir were invited to sing before HRH Princess of Wales. They have done many concerts throughout Britain including Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Essex, Scarborough and Gloucester.
They have also presented their own Sunday Serenade concert at the Patti Pavilion. They have also appeared on the BBC radio programme Good Morning Wales.
They have sung five times in Cornwall and on HMS Drake to mark the 40th Anniversary of the D Day landings. They appeared on German television, visited the island of Jersey for the 50th Anniversary of the VE Day celebrations. They have sung in Spain, Germany, Isle of Wight and Hayling Island.
The Choir have a varied and quite extensive repertoire to suit most musical tastes, as well as the traditional Welsh male voice songs. They sing spiritual songs and hymns, folksongs, and modern and popular songs from the shows.
They are a small choir of around 22 members but are always looking for more recruits.
Opened in 1900, Carmarthen Park boasts Wales's first velodrome (cycle track) and one of the few early velodromes to survive in working condition. Complete with its original grandstand, bandstand, lodge, entrance gates and railings, Carmarthen Park has been used for a wide range of sports, eisteddfodau, entertainments, circuses and concerts.
‘The Tea Shop’ at Carmarthen Park is now open daily from 10.30 am serving tea, coffee, cold drinks, ice cream and light snacks. With outside and inside seating for 25 it is an ideal place for those wishing to take a break while using the facilities of the Park or to meet with friends for a relaxing tea and cake.
The bandstand is well used with regular performances on both Saturdays and Sundays during the summer.
