One of the finest musical institutions in the South East of England. Formed in 1886, Cantium Brass are based in Chartham Hatch, near the historic City of Canterbury.

The Canterbury based Brass Band boasts an enviable reputation for providing quality entertainment all over the Country and can often be heard performing on Bandstands in Kent; including Canterbury, Broadstairs, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Hythe & Herne Bay, not to mention the many annual appearances at the Kent Garden Shows held at the Detling Showground.

The Band are proud owners of their very own Bandroom situated approx. 2 miles outside of Canterbury. It has a history dating back to 1886 when it was formerly known as the Garlinge Wesleyan Mission Band, later to become known as Margate Silver Band.

Description

A series of sheltered gardens along the cliff top promenade built during the late-19th-century. The gardens were designed by Joseph Cheal and Sons and include many decorative features including a bandstand, clock tower and Anglo-Indian style shelter.
