Description

The Rogerstone Community Band was formed in February 2017. We are a non competing organisation and our members are from past and present who enjoy the art of playing a brass instrument, but not necessarily enjoy participating in contests anymore.

The aim of the band will be to perform in organised concerts throughout the year to support the infrastructure of the organisation and of course the local community of Rogerstone and beyond.

Our facilities, instruments and music library are of a good standard and are located at the Welfare Grounds in Rogerstone.

As we reform into this new organisation, we also invite players to join us who may have the wish to continue to contest with other Brass band organisations and it is in the interest of Rogerstone Community Band to respect these wishes and to try and ensure that any planned concerts do not interfere with any upcoming contests.

We welcome players of all ages and ability, regardless of the instrument you play.

Description

The popular Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival will take place on The Green at the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron. Now in its 15th year, the free family event showcases some of the finest brass bands from Shropshire and the surrounding counties.

With some 20 bands performing, it’s the largest, non-competitive brass band festival in the country.

Performances begin at 10am on both days and continue until 5pm on Saturday and 6.30pm on Sunday. Bar drinks and light refreshments will be available to purchase.
