FiL Straughan is a musical tour de force. He is a powerful vocalist, prolific songwriter & versatile entertainer who can sing, act, dance & write.
FiL has toured with and supported many celebrities after leaving behind a Wall Street career and architectural degree to pursue his passion.
Just outside Ongar, in a delightfully rural area of Essex, the Woodman is a beautiful old country pub, dating from 1674. It is traditionally furnished, oak beamed and has a lovely old inglenook fireplace – and is listed in The Good Pub Guide.
It has a spacious and prettily planted garden, with a patio terrace which is popular for al fresco eating. Families find a warm welcome; there is a great play area for the children, plus a field with goalposts to occupy the older ones. There is ample parking too.
The Woodman’s versatile restaurant has a full and varied menu which also offers different specials to tempt the more adventurous – Moroccan lamb or oriental spiced fish being just two of many. The Sunday lunch roasts are not to be missed.
