Live Performance
Folk / Jazz / Pop
Stanlaey is currently a trio led by Bethany Stenning (vocals, electric guitar) with Ed Holland (Bass, soundscapes), and Ben Docwra (drum-kit, congas, percussion) where the band's soundscape has developed in a diverse genre pool of folk/jazz/pop, drawing influence from artists such as Joanna Newsom, Dirty Projectors and Kate Bush.
Stanlaey has previously performed live in venues in the Southampton, Bristol, Bath, Dublin and London scenes, and last year she took her 2017 album Ouroboros on a successful Girl Power Tour in celebration of female musicians where Bethany performed arrangements of the album with her Seaweed String Quartet (a live album was recorded of the tour which is available via bandcamp). Since, Bethany has been working on upcoming album and film The Human Project.
Bethany’s experimental song-writing topics (seaweed snakes, mannequins coming to life, growing into mountains), and soundscapes that meld genres together (Ice-chambers, bi-polar folk songs, obscure melodies) are made extra special by the unique and ethereal nature of Bethany’s voice, and the nebulous developing textures of the band.

The Wardrobe Theatre is a fringe studio venue and thriving arts hub in the heart of Bristol showcasing the best theatre-makers, companies and artists from around the UK.
In December 2015 we relocated and built a new arts space in the Old Market area of the city, a shared building with The Old Market Assembly.
In 2017 we welcomed 34,000 audience members and staged over 500 performances.
Our programme is a lovingly curated mix of theatre, comedy, storytelling, live music, poetry/spoken word, dance, puppetry, cabaret, drag, improvisation, new writing and family shows, with an emphasis on emerging artists and Bristol-based work.
Regularly throughout the year we also produce/co-produce productions of our own with dynamic Bristol-based creative teams and companies, shows which often go on to tour nationally.
Tickets for all shows at The Wardrobe Theatre can be purchased in advance via Tobacco Factory Theatres’ Box Office:
Alternatively tickets can be purchased in cash on the door at The Wardrobe Theatre on the night if a show hasn’t sold out.
