Description

Brass band based in the heart of the Calder Valley, competing in Yorkshire's First Section.

Records indicate that there has been a brass band in the town since the late 1850's. The band won the British Open contest in 1912, and was the band conducted by Fred Mortimer when his son Harry Mortimer took up playing the cornet. Harry would go on the become the most famous brass band player in history.

The Bandstand was built by volunteers and public subscription in 2000 by the river at the Wilderness Car Park in Wetherby.
