Description

Kid Calico & the Astral Ponies make a joyous racket, wet and grubby from the musical ground from which it’s dug up, brushed off and thrown to the wind with delightful abandon. Chasing the shadows of an off-key E street band, they’ll stumble sideways into a drunken Dr John shuffle one moment, copy Jonathan Richman covering Tom Waits then lose themselves in a stoned Floydian blur (tuned to frequency Radiohead), and throw coins into the hat of The Band busking on suburban Desolation Row.

Always there, holding the reins, the sartorial wonderment of Kid Calico, politely guiding his charges and balancing their unbridled enthusiasm with classic songwriting and singalong melodies to die for.

This is a band for people seeking foot tapping thrills, heart tugging anthems, daring circus ditties and Mexican waltzes proven to cause ankle injuries.
