Live Performance
Folk & Americana
The Shackleton Trio are Georgia Shackleton (fiddle, vocals), Aaren Bennett (guitar) and Nic Zuppardi (mandolin). True and natural talents of the folk tradition, their brilliant self-penned material blends seamlessly with their imaginative yet authentic re-workings of traditional folk standards, influenced by British, American and Scandinavian folk traditions, with a regional twist from the group's native East Anglia.
The uniquely beautiful songwriting skills of Georgia Shackleton, combined with the vibrant, virtuoso instrumental brilliance of Aaren Bennett, Nic Zuppardi and Georgia’s pure and original folk voice have developed and matured through two critically acclaimed albums (The Dog Who Would Not Be Washed and new release Fen, Farm and Deadly Water) into a musical force just as likely to move you to tears as to move you to your feet.
The band is now gaining significant UK and International exposure, both live and on the radio, with plays on Mark Radcliffe's Radio 2 Folk Show, and an appearance on Cambridge Folk Festival's main stage alongside numerous appearances at a host of UK and European festivals.

In 1991 the PTA started the Folk Festival as a fund raiser in the village hall. Since then, the Festival has grown, but still remains true to its roots. It is organised and run by a group of volunteers dedicated to bringing good music into Priddy. It is a “not for profits” organisation with the stated aims of promoting music and arts and improving the environs of Priddy. But it still is a major contributor to the local school respecting its PTA origins. The Festival is now based on and around the historic green in Priddy – the most wonderful setting for a weekend of music.
We are known for our relaxed, friendly atmosphere, so to sit out in the open or under canvas listening to music, chatting with friends, or having a drink with everyone else around you is pretty much normal for us.
