The Motives, Bradford’s Punk, Ska and 1980's Electronica covers Band was formed by Paul Cousin, Del Trudgill and Andy Thorpe back in early 2017. The gents called upon the talents of their favourite musicians on the Yorkshire music scene to complete the band’s line up. Steve Atkins and Paul Guthrie also had a wealth of experience as permanent members of the likes of Bradford-based Bands ‘The Alpine Movement”, “Vandal Supreme” to name a few.
We perform all the classic Punk, Ska and Pop hits from the 70’s all the way up to the 1980's with our dancefloor fillers like Bad Manners, The Specials to The Stranglers, The Vapors, Elvis Costello, Tenpole Tudor to Depeche Mode and Culture Club naming just a few, and also some complimentary 'The Jam' hits thrown in and on it goes.
The list of the songs covered by The Motives is constantly evolving and being updated, and to date we hold in our arsenal over 70 songs in the genres previously mentioned.
We would love to cater to all tastes but due to our tried and tested method we tend to stick ONLY with the Classics. Please don’t ask for Elvis Presley.
The Motives are currently experimenting with ’80’s Electronica’ for the dance rhythms that never fail to get people moving. Artists like Soft Cell, Depeche Mode you know. It has also even proved to be very popular amongst even the most pessimistic musoes and stern music critics who seem to be swept away by the grooves.
A central bar separates a comfortable lounge into two areas, both rooms have their adherents. Adjacent to this is a further lounge which can be closed off for functions or meeting as required.
Outside is a large Patio/Garden area and an ample car park in front and to the side.
