James Chapman and the Blue Moon are a unique English country act. The’ve built a reputation for foot stomping, drinking pounding high energy country blues. Performed with big vocals, picking guitar, thumping bass and shuffling drums.

James and Al have spent the winter finding a gang of fellow like minded musicians. Then forming a set of country standards, styled covers and catchy originals. After the boys gave the set a brief road test in a couple of rowdy pubs, and even a show in the peak district, they feel excited for truly busy summer of festivals, pubs, bars and venues.

It started life at the grounds of the infamous Goat Inn, Public House (hence the event’s name was also born), however has since grown to be moved to local farmland in recent years, and the festival boasts stunning views across the Hertfordshire countryside.

We pride ourselves on showcasing the best local, national and international live music from bands, solo artists and DJs.

Established for over 10 years now. The event has hosted such names as Kim Wilde, James Bay, The Showhawk Duo, Dr & The Medics and many many more.
The event supports the best in live music, DJ Performances, street food and creativity.

Limited parking will be available onsite (please note - our car park is being run by local scout group and will be at a small charge which will go to the group entirely).

Gates to the car park and camping areas will be open at from 3pm on Friday and 11.00am both Saturday and Sunday.

Children under the age of 6 are not required to pay for an entry ticket but also with a responsible adult at all times.

All children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult for both the festival and camping.

Goatfest is a cash only event. Some food and craft vendors may accept card but this is not guaranteed The bar, and ticket gat is cash only.

There is no ATM / cashpoint onsite. The nearest cashpoint is in Codicote village shop, Mace Stores. This is on Codicote high street - about a 10-15 minute walk from the festival.

Security will allow you re-entry to the festival if you need to withdraw cash.
