Live Performance
Brass Band
Bradwell Silver Band was founded on January 15th 1901 and can proudly claim that it has been in continuous existence for well over a century.
Most of the original members lived in what was then rural North Buckinghamshire villages of Bradwell and Stantonbury and were employed at the London and North Western Railway Works in neighbouring Wolverton. These areas were later renamed Old Bradwell and New Bradwell respectively and although both areas retain their identities, they are now very much a part of the ever expanding development that is Milton Keynes. The railway works ceased to be a major employer by the 1980s and today’s membership is drawn from a cross section of trades and professions.
The 2018 contest of the London & Southern Counties Region of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain took place at the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre over the weekend of March 17th and 18th. Bradwell Band played in the 4th Section on Sunday 18th.
Spirits were high once the result was announced and it became clear we had taken the number one position out of 18 bands. This was 117 years in the making and now sees the band promoted to the 3rd section for next year.
Located in the nearest open space to the Town Centre.
Home to our Splash ‘n’ Play park (open in summer months between 10:00-17:30), beach, children’s play area, skate park and bandstand.
