Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash pioneered a distinctive twin-lead guitar style that influenced the likes of Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden.
With more than 20 original studio recordings and several live albums to their credit, the group has appeared at all the major music festivals and enjoys a history with some of the world’s classic music labels, Universal and Atlantic Records.

The Lemon Tree’s artistic programme celebrates the new, up and coming, experimental and alternative in music, theatre, dance, performance art, comedy, spoken word and creative learning.
We’re producing and presenting tomorrow’s legends today, welcoming local and international artists and companies, hosting boundary pushing Artist in Residence programmes, supporting emergent practitioners and homegrown talent and acting as a festivals hub for the North-east. And discover Freshly Squeezed, new voices in music and theatre.
The Lounge can hold 550 at standing gigs and just under 300 seated.
The Studio has a capacity of 166 seated
We have two bars at The Lemon Tree. The Lounge bar stocks a wide variety of drinks including local brewery Brewdog beers while Kate’s Bar offers the chance to relax before seeing a show in the Studio.
The Lemon Tree offers an excellent chance to gather your friends together and enjoy a night you’ll be talking about for weeks to come. Take a look at what’s on and plan your social life now!
Level access is available from the side door on Shoe Lane, please ring the bell for access.
Wheelchair users can be accommodated for all events.
There is a lift in the foyer to gain access to the first floor Studio.
