Description

The White Rock Theatre is a 1,066 seat venue in Hastings and is packed with all the live music, family entertainment, drama and comedy you'll need to take you through the year.

Originally the 'East Sussex Hospital', the building was replaced with the White Rock Pavilion which was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales in April 1927. It was built for the Hastings Municipal Orchestra. The pavilion underwent a further re-modification in 1937 and again in 1985 when it was renamed the White Rock Theatre.
Situated in a commanding position on the Hastings shoreline the White Rock Theatre is the perfect concert and theatre venue, with a recently-refurbished, sea-view Café Bar. The Theatre’s programme is varied and includes one night concerts, musicals, drama and an annual pantomime.
The ideal venue for meetings, rehearsals, workshops, conferences, parties, celebrations and more, the White Rock Theatre offers a range of spaces that can be adapted to suit your requirements, from one-to-one meetings to large seminars and birthday celebrations to community events.

The Sussex Hall encompasses a multi-functional and versatile space equipped with sound and lighting, a large area for projection, fully licenced bar and sprung dance floor. The Sussex Hall is the idea venue to hold your conference, celebration rehearsal or performance.

Our new and improved cafe has now re-opened before shows following refurbishment. Open 90 minutes prior to show start, the Lounge Cafe is a beautiful space with stunning views onto the south coast and the iconic Hastings Pier. At our Lounge Cafe you can enjoy a meal from our new menu without reservation with our order and collect service for a relaxed, casual dining experience with a fantastic view. The lounge is also the best place to enjoy a relaxing drink before a show, or perhaps a delicious coffee or another choice from our range of refreshments.

The White Rock Theatre is owned by the Hastings Borough Council and managed by HQ Theatres & Hospitality, the UK’s second largest theatre operator. HQ Theatres parent company is Qdos Entertainment one of the UK’s biggest, broad-based entertainment groups in the UK
