Description

The Queen Margaret Union stands as a long-standing cultural institution within Glasgow's West End, operating as a not-for-profit charity dedicated to enriching student life and the wider community. Since its inception in 1890, it has evolved into a significant hub for events, holding a distinct place in the city's vibrant cultural landscape.

Beyond its Brutalist exterior, the interior spaces offer a palpable sense of history, where the echoes of countless performances seem to linger in the air. The main venue, with its robust architecture, provides a grounded setting for gatherings, while the hum of conversation from its various bars and social areas suggests a constant, lively energy.

Located at 22 University Gardens, the QMU ensures broad access with lifts serving all floors and dedicated wheelchair seating in performance areas. Patrons can find refreshment at the on-site bars and cafes, contributing to the venue's self-sustaining model.

Throughout the year, the Union hosts a diverse calendar of events, ranging from live music performances that draw both established and emerging acts, to regular club nights, engaging quizzes, and various student society gatherings, reflecting its commitment to broad cultural engagement.
