From Ann Henning Jocelyn comes The Sphere of Light, an authentic historic play uncovering the hidden histories of the famous Boleyn women.
The Hever Festival Theatre provides an idyllic setting for a wonderful summer’s evening of socialising in the evening sunshine combined with top quality entertainment.
The open air venue is set in a magical location in the award winning gardens of Hever Castle in Kent. The stage is fully covered, and the seating is tiered with the vast majority of seats under brand new seating canopies, which means if the sun doesn’t shine, the audience still can enjoy the spectacular setting with protection from the weather.
The gates open 30 minutes before the matinees, and close at 6pm allowing plenty of time to enjoy the gardens and lake. In the evening the gates open at 6.30pm and audience are welcome to picnic in the beautiful gardens of the Castle before the evening performances. A bar and snack food counter are available, and the Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant offers pre-theatre suppers and cream teas (to be booked in advance). For those who wish to stay with their picnics all evening, unreserved and uncovered grass seating is available for most music concerts.
There is a huge range of fantastic live entertainment on offer every summer including plays, opera, comedy, jazz, music, tribute acts and a week of Cinema Under the Stars.
The Ticket Office located by the theatre is open on performance days for ticket collections and sales. It opens from 6.30pm for evening performances, and from 30 minutes before all matinee performances. We do advise checking availability of tickets before arriving at the venue.
