The Antic Follies present a spectacular Sunday night of cabaret, burlesque, comedy and live music!
“…the dirty alternative to Soho’s glitz, a diabolical night of cabaret and burlesque"
Tonight's performers are...
Chris Lynam! With an exquisite grasp of the grotesque, Chris has been feverishly subverting the traditions of the stand-up for more than thirty years. His reputation for unpredictable comic mayhem has propelled him to the four corners of the globe,. "Surreal unhinged quality which makes for comic greatness."– The Guardian
"As well as being technically excellent, it's genuinely perverse and absurd – equal parts David Lynch, Samuel Beckett and Looney Tunes."– The Scotsman
Molly Beth Morossa! Molly is a producer, performer and writer with extensive experience in the London cabaret scene. Together with Ruby Wednesday (who performed at the Antic Follies show in March this year) they are the creator and co-host of the amazing RiffRaff Kabaret – a contemporary twist on the classic Weimar-style Cabaret, catering to working class and queer audiences.
Enrico Touche! International man of business Enrico is a cabaret performer whose unique take on clowning, trapeze and singing has been entertaining audiences internationally and at some of the UK's top cabarets. With their playful energy and irreverent humour they bring a unique blend of chaos and whimsy to every performance. "Enrico Touché exemplifies why classic slapstick still #slaps." - Fringe Biscuit Magazine.
The Wrong Numba! Absurdist whirlwind and buck-toothed social commentator The Wrong Numba returns to Antic Follies with more surreal observations and whimsical bafflement. Expect the bizarre.
All hosted, as usual, by the inimitable Tom Baker, and the show will end with live music from Oblique Intent - expect the fuzzy and nostalgic, ecstatic and weird, luxe synthesis and frenetic electronic. "It's pop, it's harmonic, it's velvet radiophonic. It's slick and discrete with sensual pull. It's just sticky enough, juicy and full."
The band's manifesto is: "make it feel like watching The Old Grey Whistle Test on a CRT TV in Keith Haring's Broome Street apartment in Manhattan. Expect keytar and theremin, intergalactic drama and strange movements."
Attendance = Essential if you want to contort your body to appease the dance gods.
