Arkwright Society Evening Talks
7.00pm Cheese & Wine: 7.30pm Talk starts
With its renewed popularity thanks to the power of TV, this talk offers the chance to discover more about the miniature world of model railways. Set up in 1981, the Chesterfield Railway Modellers have had the desire to build, operate and exhibit a range of layouts based upon modern railway practice.
The group exhibit every year at Cromford Mills and hundreds of people have enjoyed their impressive displays whilst helping them to raise money for the Children's Hospitals in Sheffield and Chesterfield. During this special talk, the Chesterfield Railway Modellers tell us the fascinating story about a number of 'boys playing with trains' and how they have developed their hobby as a way to raise money for charity.
