This 13th century inn sits directly on the Pennine Way in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park; Turner apparently stayed here while painting the nearby Hardraw Force waterfall, and Wordsworth refers to his stay at the Green Dragon in a letter to Coleridge.
