Live In the North East's last gig of 2019 is a very special one featuring a double bill of exceptional artists.
Steve Pledger is a nationally-acclaimed singer/songwriter who has increasingly been making his mark on the North East music scene since he moved to County Durham from Somerset two years ago.
A multi award-winning artist, Steve's songs speak straight from the heart and cover every aspect of human emotion, often with unflinching candour and always with a directness and sincerity that are his trademark.
Expect to be stirred, roused and emotionally engaged by lyrics that will have you cheering one moment and wiping away a tear the next.
Ma Polaine's Great Decline made such an impression with their début North Shields gig earlier in the year that a quick return was inevitable.
Beth Packer's extraordinary voice is underpinned by Clinton Hough's atmospheric and restrained guitar playing. Jazz? Blues? Roots? Something of all those perhaps but theirs is a style uniquely their own: their songs are compelling, sometimes dark, always thought-provoking.
This will be an evening of fine musicianship from artists who defy conventional pigeon-holing and whose songs entertain and challenge. Don't miss it!
