Celebrate the choir's Founder and Director Ian de Massini's 60th birthday in this fundraising concert for BabylonARTS in the stunning acoustical surroundings of Ely Cathedral's Lady Chapel. The evening will feature the World Premiere of Handel's virtuosic choral masterpiece, Dixit Dominus, in a new version for Choir, Organ and Piano.
The sparkling programme includes commissioned new music from four different countries: France, Norway, Switzerland and Great Britain, plus new choral arrangements of works from Gershwin, Bach, Brahms,Puccini, Gounod, Rachmaninov, and 17th-century China, all exclusively arranged for tonight's choir. The Choir is drawn from the most prestigious chapel choirs in Cambridge (King's, Trinity, St John's, Clare, Jesus).
