British pianist/composer Andrew McCormack has built a diverse international career with many appearances at major festivals and concert halls all over the globe. He is perhaps best known internationally as a long-standing member of the Kyle Eastwood Band but also has numerous projects under his own name including a trio, a duo with Saxophonist Jason Yarde and the pianist's progressive jazz project, Graviton. Andrew has also received commissions for classical orchestral and chamber concerts. In 2017, Andrew launched Graviton, a new band project which saw him in a more groove- based setting including vocals and a wider sound world closer to what might be described as 'Prog-Jazz'. GRAVITON: THE CALLING, Andrew's latest album in 2019, is a fully conceived work that follows the classic hero's journey. Whatever the genre, throughout his body of work, Andrew McCormack has managed to consistently demonstrate a compelling setting for his musical ideas, a platform for virtuosic improvisation and a constant revivifying and adaptive embodiment of the jazz tradition. A pub and music bar on the perimeter of Cambridge Circus, at the corner of Romilly Street and Moor Street. First licensed in 1686 as the George, the current building dates from 1898 and the current name from 1986. (One of the old names, Cantons, can be seen being held by one of the gargoyles on the top of the building).

Famous in the 1960s and 70s for folk music and then punk, latterly it has become a jazz venue and home to SpiceJazz club. Up to 5 real ales from the McMullen range on offer and free admission to the main bar but you may have to pay for some music gigs in the basement.
