- from Brooklyn, born in Saskatchawan Canada,raised in the wide open spaces of N Dakota farmland and a hot springs commune in New Mexico by parents who 'dropped out' ('we were always outsiders...') before heading to Austin TX with a homemade guitar, which she still plays.
Her 1st album in 1997 featured musicians of Asleep At The Wheel. Austin Music Awards named her 'Best Singer / Songwriter' and 'Best Folk Artist.' She has collaborated with Ron Sexsmith and a later album, 'Bad Blood', was produced by Steve Earle at Levon Helm's studio. Back after a fine performance at the Greys in 2018.
