Door: 10:00am
Workshop:10:30am - 1:30pm
Improvisation workshop with Stan Sulzmann & Nikki Iles.
This session will focus on developing aural skills through improvisation. We will work on repertoire that lends itself to motivic improvising and in the course of the workshop we will give you some ideas on developing melodic solos that have a sense of narrative and purpose. Although no previous improvising experience is necessary you will get the most out of this session if your instrumental ability is upwards of grade 5.
You are welcome to observe if you would prefer not to participate directly. Above all, this session is meant to be fun and to give you a chance to have a go!
