Opening Act: SPRING DAY
Spring Day is a New York stand-up comedian, writer and actor previously based in Tokyo, Japan and is currently ripping it up on the UK circuit. Her uniquely sharp, dark, bubbly and often brutal style of comedy is always a crowd pleaser you don't want to miss.
A fluent Japanese speaker and a mild cerebral palsy haver, Spring has been headlining at the Tokyo Comedy Store since 2002. She has also been performing all over the world since opening for Japanese comedian Zenjiro at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2004.
Voted Brooklyn's Best Comedian 2016, Spring has also been working as a comedy consultant on a pilot for the BBC due for broadcast later this year. She has written, produced, directed and performed five solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2010. Spring has also performed at various clubs in London, Manchester, Dublin, Los Angeles, New York and Paris.
"Spring's gimlet-eyed perspective on life belies her Summer of Love name, but Tokyo's most prolific comic can't hide her underlying joy of life, even while recounting darker tales of love and loss in Tokyo."
Tokyo Comedy Store
★★★★ "Spring Day is such a likable and friendly character with an incredibly infectious smile that draws the audience into her performance and wickedly delivered punch lines which have them falling over themselves with laughter"
