Join Jim for a night celebrating the autumnal season with a feast of West Country songs, medieval and secular carols from around the British Isles as well as poems and contemporary songs which reflect this magical season. Expect some spooky numbers, some jolly ditties and some moving ballads as the year moves towards winter. The harvests are in, the apples are stored and the cider is made - this is the time to gather together for a evening of warmth and wonderful music - as cosy as if you were toasting your toes by a crackling log fire on a cold Autumn night!
Jim is a proud Devonian. An all-round entertainer, related to celebrated Cornish poet Charles Causley, Jim grew up with traditional music in his home village of Whimple. Within easy reach of the great folk festivals of Sidmouth and Dartmoor in the heart of cider country with its ancient tradition of Wassail, unsurprisingly, music and song-writing come very naturally to him. His wonderful baritone voice lead Mojo Magazine to describe Jim as 'the finest singer of his generation' with The Guardian commenting that he is 'spearheading the West Country folk revival.
