Heavy Pop presents

-- Lazy Day (duo) --
"the reverb-drenched resonance of Slowdive and the wonky pop sensibility of Kate Bush" - Noisey
"Lazy Day casting the blurry edges of their dream-pop into sharper focus." - The Line Of Best Fit

Lazy Day began in 2014 as the solo bedroom project of Tilly Scantlebury. After recording her songs in her makeshift bedroom studio, news about Lazy Day spread so quickly that she put together her now four-piece band. Joined by Beni Evans on drums, Liam Hoflay on lead guitar and Kris Lavin on bass, the warmth and energy they have onstage as a unit is infectious. Everyone's invited to the party, nobody is left out.

Their debut EP 'Ribbons' was released in September 2017, followed by their latest offering 'Letters' in March 2019. Funded by the PRS and Festival Republic ReBalance scheme, their releases have been supported by Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, Huw Stephens on Radio 1, John Kennedy on Radio X, as well as DIY, GoldFlakePaint, Line of Best Fit and Amazing Radio. On top of selling out a string of headline shows, Lazy Day have toured with Jay Som, Alex Lahey and Amber Arcades, and are set to play their biggest shows yet with Bloc Party this summer.

This year they've packed in the festivals including Latitude, The Great Escape, Community, Kendal Calling, Camden Rocks, Are You Listening? and Y Not? Festival. Come see them play as special stripped down duo set.

Plus special guest on the night:

Max Blansjaar

16-year-old Max Blansjaar spent the first few years of his musical career as a virtuoso classical pianist. In late 2017 he started to experiment with his unique brand of lo-fi pop music, writing and recording a collection of songs on an old computer at his school. The result was Blansjaar's debut EP Spit it Out!, a record that captured attention with its seamless combination of chunky grunge guitars, unusual samples and intelligent, witty lyricism.

Since then he has performed at Cornbury and Truck Festival, played with the likes of Pip Blom and Willie J Healey, and been championed by Clash Magazine, Born Music, and BBC Introducing.
