THE SOUTH are proud to announce they will be playing at Leicester's World Famous Live Music Venue, THE DONKEY, Leicester on Sat Oct 5th 2019.
This will be the last ever week under the reign of legendary landlords Warren & Zoe!
The South started their career at this very venue 10 years ago. Its very fitting that they should be one of the last bands to honour its stage and soundtrack the end of an era.
Also fitting as The South singer, Gaz Birtles, was also the main music promoter with Warren for the first 12 years of its existence.
The South will be playing all the hits and more from the back catalogue of great British institution, The Beautiful South.
The night promises to be emotional, uplifting, heartbreaking and messy.

We are a LIVE MUSIC VENUE AND BAR!!!
The gaffers are Warren and Zoe who are very fortunate to work alongside Gaz Birtles (Beautiful South) and Drew Stansall (The Specials)

Together and with the help of a few other like minded souls we built up one of THE BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUES going right now!!!!

Since 2005, The Donkey has not only built a reputation as an intimate venue, with a live-wire atmosphere, but for presenting low-key gigs by major name acts. Both landlord Warren’s legendary bonhomie and promoter Gaz Birtles knowledge of the music business are evident in the care and love shown to all aspects of this independent establishment. It’s an approach that above anything else treats both musicians and customers alike as friends.

Located just outside of the Leicester city centre and close to both of the Universities, the Donkey also boasts a large beer garden and car park, free WiFi and offers a wide range of lagers, bottled beer, wine and real ales as well as fresh ground coffee daily.
