A fireside gig with the Berry Tree Band is not to be missed! A wonderful collection of engaging songs and instrumentals, performed by three award-winning musicians, the band's love for music and their joy in playing together is infectious. They'll draw you in with their beautiful three-part harmonies, so much so that the whole room is usually singing at the end of the set. But joyous and inclusive though their music may be, this is no commonplace folk singalong. For one thing, some of the songs set off at such a pace, guitarist Ben Young borrowing from the Parisian gypsy jazz of the 1940s, as well as 60s legend Bert Jansch, that you'd be hard-pressed to catch up with the chorus. Taking a break from her day job as concert pianist to play the accordion and musical spoons, Annie Ball reworks Martin Carthy's classic Man o' War in a way that is by turns chilling and bacchanalian, and the final leap into one of Helen Bell's ceilidh sets -- her songs and compositions instantly memorable and utterly distinctive -- is typical Berry Tree Band. They love classic folk songs and Americana, but not with an untouchable reverence but as living material which they fashion in new ways.

The ceilidh will be with members of Stocksfield Stompers, a youth folk band based in Stocksfield led by Ruth Ball who will be calling the dances. Suitable for all ages and complete ceilidh beginners! All the dances are explained and walked through slowly and then danced to music! Great fun!

Bring and Share supper, wood fired pizzas from the village pizza oven and street food available from 5:30pm - 7pm, and a cash bar will be available all evening.

The Fireside Gig will be at 7pm and the ceilidh will be at 8pm.
