Peter Horsfall is an acclaimed trumpet player, vocalist and songwriter based in the U.K. A vibrant and formidable presence on the London jazz scene, Horsfall has developed a reputation as a consummate bandleader and an innovative producer. Having released his latest album Nighthawks to critical acclaim (receiving a four star review in the Guardian and being described by All About Jazz as 'one of the year's most original releases' as well as being featured on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM) Horsfall brings his new project 'RED' to the EFG London Jazz Festival, exploring the legacy of legendary New Orleans trumpeter and singer Henry 'Red' Allen.
'This project communicates some of the wonderful style, swing and joy that Henry 'Red' Allen brought to his music. He is, for me, one of the great jazz stylists of the 20th century whose music remains as thoroughly modern, mysterious and entertaining as when it was first released. RED is my personal tribute to this genius of modern music.' - Peter Horsfall.
