Clare Teal is an award-winning singer songwriter and BBC Radio 2 broadcaster with a sensational voice and engaging stage presence. Always accompanied by first rate musicians her live shows are legendary full of energy, uplifting music and fun. She performs up and down the country throughout the year at festivals and high profile venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Chichester Festival Theatre, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Malvern Theatres, Anvil Arts, Gateshead International Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, Salisbury International Arts Festival and Glastonbury Festival, as well as singing with renowned orchestras and Big Bands - Hallé, BBC CO, RTÉ CO etc. Alongside her concerts, Clare presents her own live show on BBC Radio 2 every Sunday from 10-11pm.
Bursting with well-known songs and a guarantee of a few surprises too, the repertoire of Clare's shows is constantly evolving but always celebrates giants of the Great American and British Songbooks, Cole Porter, the Gershwin's, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Billy Strayhorn etc. made famous by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Doris Day, through to more contemporary writers crafting the standards of today. The rich jazz infused arrangements, from ballads to swing, are all performed with her agile and expressive voice and warm wit and accompanied by some of the best musicians in the business.
