The Toy Museum Folk Club is Brighton's newest traditional folk night, bringing the very best acts to the unique setting of Brighton Toy and Model Museum. Come and watch intimate acoustic sets from the finest folk talents, and explore the train sets, model planes and traditional children's toys on display in the museum.
Jenny Sturgeon will be bringing us her live show, The Living Mountain. An evocative, uplifting and compelling audio-visual performance inspired by Nan Shepherd's book of the same name, The Living Mountain considers human connections with wild places through lyrical and melodic interpretation of the novel, and interweaves song with visuals from the Cairngorm Mountains National Park; filmed by videographer Robyn Spice, rewilding advocacy group Scotland The Big Picture and with archive imagery from the National Library of Scotland. It marks a bold and significant step in Jenny Sturgeon's development as one of Scotland's finest singer-songwriters.
Support comes from Hickory Signals. This local duo have made a huge impact of their own in recent years and are very much a focal point of the fantastic Sussex folk scene, which we are committed to celebrating throughout 2020.
