We are delighted to welcome Laura Cortese and the Dance Cards back to Reeth after the overwhelming success of their 2017 gig.

Laura is a fiddler/vocalist and song-writer who digs deep and aims high. She grew up in San Francisco and moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music (the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world), immersing herself in the city's vibrant indie music scene and enjoying a busy touring-and-studio-sidekick career which included appearances with Band of Horses at Carnegie Hall and Pete Seeger at Newport Folk Festival.

It's been with The Dance Cards that Laura has made the biggest impression in recent times. Bandmates Valerie Thompson, Jenna Moynihan and Jeni Magana bring their own multi-genre credentials to embellish the stylish mix.

It's not a string band, not a string quartet, not an indie band, but somehow all of those at once, all while staying firmly rooted in an identity as folk instrumentalists. It's adventurous and complex music delivered with power and heart.
