Gaygirl make alt-grunge noise-pop, whilst retaining shoegaze undertones. 'Indie Noir' has been a term used to describe the emotive, visceral sonic of this female-fronted four piece. For fans of MBV, Radiohead, Nirvana and PJ Harvey; or those who want them all at once get sent on a journey through the nuances of 90s nostalgia-meets-now with jarring melodies and guttural guitar vibes. Gaygirl have proven themselves to be a tight and dynamic live act on the London gigging scene, supporting the likes of Shame, Sorry and Gabrielle Cohen amongst many other up and coming bands.
Noisy yet delicate, and at once intense and shoegazey. Their primal vocals, grunge guitars and tone that strikes both dark and light are reminiscent of early Wolf Alice, while their lyrics focus on a refreshing honesty. Line of Best Fit
The new single leans towards their noisier influences, verging on 90's grunge but without limits, nodding towards the bands pop appreciation and ready made for the playlists of major radio stations whilst the charm of guitarist and vocalist, Bex, is sure to lure a larger and larger live audience. Their sound is dark and full of punk undertones, whilst at the same time retaining a trippy pop element. Indie Underground

Gaygirl have somehow married the power of overdriven guitar on all their records to date and this one is no different, it's as if Hole bought some effects pedals and listened to a bit more pop music - the London quartet have their own sound, and it's fair to say it will delight the ears of both grunge and pop fans. Hard of Hearing
One of London’s finest small venues brought to you by the team behind the Old Blue Last since 2017.
