Genre : Music - Classical

Description

London-born pianist Louis Demetrius Alvanis made his concerto debut at the Royal Festival Hall at the age of twenty and has since established an international career performing in the UK, across Europe and in the USA every season. His playing is regularly transmitted across the major media, and his CD releases on the Meridian and Brilliant Classics labels have been critically acclaimed by the international music press. In London he has performed solo recitals in the main concert halls such as the Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, St John's Smith Square and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Following on from the US release of his recording of Chopin's Three Piano Sonatas, Fanfare Magazine remarked this is playing of a gifted and greatly cultivated Chopin pianist.

He will play:

MOZART Sonata in B flat, K333
BEETHOVEN Sonata No.8 in C minor, Op.13 Pathetique
CHOPIN Two Polonaises, Op.40 (A major, C minor)
CHOPIN Sonata No.3 in B minor, Op.58

Our piano is a fine 2015 Hamburg Steinway Model B, maintained by Steinways and tuned by them immediately before each recital.

After the concert we offer a traditional English buffet tea, with freshly-made sandwiches, savouries and homemade cakes and your choice of wine, tea, coffee or juice. Louis will attend the tea and you can meet him. "Tea" tickets can be bought on the door with cash or by cheque. They cost £7, or £5 for full-time students and schoolchildren. We can cater for up to 70.
