Description

Anglo-Australian synthpop legends PARRALOX are coming to Manchester for a rare UK performance. Formed in 2008 as the brainchild of John von Ahlen, Parralox have a pedigree of slick electronic pop numbers including orginals and covers. Their collaborators include Marcella Detroit of Shakespeare's Sister and Ian Burden of the Human League. Now fronted by Manchester vocalist Johanna Gervin, this will be their first live show in the UK since 2017.

Joining them will be sophisticated electropop duo Northern Kind, whose performance as co-headliners at Silicon Dreams Festival 2019 wowed returning fans and new ones. Finally, fantastic newcomers AXLS join the extra-special line-up.

This will be a very special and unique show held at the iconic Factory 251 venue - home to Tony Wilson, New Order and the Happy Mondays.

PARRALOX
Based in Melbourne, Australian electropop outfit Parralox came to life in 2008. Their debut album Electricity achieved critical acclaim and paved the way for an impressive catalogue of energetic electronic pop releases, which has led to their latest studio album Genesis.

Genesis features the vocal talents of Johanna Gervin, Louise Love, John von Ahlen and Jane Badler. Bass Guitar is by Ian Burden (ex-The Human League).

Collaborations with the likes of Ade Fenton and Marcella Detroit have all been part of the Parralox story. Meanwhile, the striking visual style and branding of the outfit is masterminded by Parralox founder John von Ahlen, giving Parralox one of the most distinctive looks of any electronic band.

Genesis is the next generation of Parralox songs, riding along the synthwave, electro and retrowave of music, taking the listener on a powerful and electronic journey with great melodies and charismatic voices.

NORTHERN KIND
Leicester-based electronic duo Matt Culpin and Sarah Heeley formed in 2006 and have gained a loyal, international fan-base. Their early albums 53 Degrees North an Wired: topped album and download charts across Europe and won them prestigious live dates including a UK tour with pop legends Kajagoogoo, Recoil with Alan Wilder (ex-Depeche Mode) and Gary Numan at Postbahnhof, Berlin, and Heaven 17 at the 2013 Silicon Dreams Festival.

The duo's third album Credible Sexy Unit, released in 2013, met with critical acclaim from across the electronic music scene and was described by The Electricity Club as ...exactly what you'd expect from Northern Kind: retro-amped, chipper tunes, superlative singing, enduring song writing, and a professional attitude that belies their indie sensibilities. Erasure's Andy Bell took to Twitter to give his seal of approval, proclaiming Loving the sound of Credible Sexy Unit.

With 10,000 album sales and a legacy of high profile live performances, Northern Kind were proving that self-produced, self-promoted music could give the industry giants a run for their money.

AXLS
Hailing from Newcastle, electronic outfit AXLS draw inspiration from Blade Runner, Kraftwerk, The Human League and LCD Soundsystem.

Describing themselves as "All about the synth", AXLS have released a clutch of singles, which includes the pulsing beats of 'Integration'
