We are delighted that Louise Fazackerley will launch her new Glass Arc tour at Preston's The Ferret on Thursday, January 30.
The tour is promoting Louise's first book The Lolitas, with dates lined up across the country and set to include overseas performances in Paris and New York.
The Wigan-based poet will perform some of her controversial work from The Lolitas, alongside her thrilling established set.
The Lolitas is published by Verve Poetry Press - release date December 12, 2019 - with work from it premiered as a video installation at The Fire Within exhibition in Wigan, part of a collaboration with international film artists AL + AL.
Louise has appeared on BBC 1's Breakfast show, as well as BBC Radio 3 and 4, performing her work to millions of people and talking about issues surrounding poetry and northern life.
She has supported the godfather of punk poetry John Cooper Clarke on tour and her work has been hailed by several of the UK's best poets and literary icons:
'A great performer' Will Self
'A voice that tingles with promise' Ian McMillan
'That was amazing and I've been a poet for 34 years. Will you come and do my festival?' Attila the Stockbroker
'A class act... I love her, you will too' John Cooper Clarke
Mainly a live music pub, opposite the University student union, but not strictly a student pub. The pub forms part of a large and distinctive former industrial building, the site of Preston's first steam powered cotton mill by John Horrocks in 1794.
An American diner style menu featuring burgers, dogs and wraps is served all day and is also available to take away. Rock music (recorded) is played most of the time and there may be a cover charge on the door for some live music.
