An evening of Pirates, Gentlemen and Beards. The Captain's Beard and other weird folk will enchant you with songs about drinking, facial hair, bees and resisting maturity.
Tickets are £8 (plus booking fee) in advance and £10 on the door.
The Captain's Beard are from Brighton, (the drinking town with a fishing problem.) They play rocked up maritime and shanty music from the British Isles that combines the raucous vibes of the Pogues with all the good humour of Chas and Dave. Their debut album Same Ship Different Day, made a splash and saw them tour the south coast from Dover to Penzance and with their second album "Completely Tankard" set for release in 2020 they're set to tour from the Highlands in Inverness down to Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, terrorizing everyone with their close harmony singing. BEARD!
The Sweetchunks Band play an unusual, yet compelling amalgamation of parodic folk, rock, chap-hop and drinking anthems, fused into a Steampunk horsecarriage of farcical and anecdotal comedy. Not to be missed.
The Barbarian Horde and the whimsical-musical love child of The Kinks, The Divine Comedy, Pulp and Jake Thackray. And yes, that's too many parents. And it's immodest. Have a wee listen?
