JazzUP! presents
The JAZZUP END OF YEAR PARTY!

The third year of JazzUP has been another great one, and it's now time to celebrate.
What a year it's been - with mind-blowing performances from big names in contemporary jazz such
as Rob Luft and Randolph Matthews and sell-out gigs from the likes of legends such as Horace Panter and Ray Gelato.

We've put together a gig to help you groove your way out of 2019, and open the door to 2020

Headlining the party night will be:
CLOSE TO THE BONE
Fronted by JazzUp founder Dave Keech on trombone, the band features both local young players
and rising young jazz stars.

+ guest singer - Rachel Farrow
Rachel needs little introduction as an established and hugely popular singer based in Hitchin, and
leader of Genie and the Jivebombers. You'll have seen her perform wonderful duets at JazzUp with
Ray Gelato. And her sassy Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee influenced style is perfection for any
party.

+ DJs: Les Jazz Rats
Eric (landlord of The Highlander Pub) and Sten (North Herts FM resident hip-hop DJ) spin jazz and
rare grooves exclusively on vinyl. With the last live band set finishing at around 11.00, and a late
bar til 1am, our JazzUp DJs invite you to hit the dance floor and party in earnest.

Like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge/
Peterborough and London and we are just a 5 minute stroll from the station.
