It's a very welcome return for our old friend Eddie Walker to the Black Swan Folk Club and this time in duo format with long-time friend and collaborator Frank Porter.
A folk musician for 5 decades with his eclectic mix of roots guitar repertoire and self-penned material across several genres, contemporary folk, country blues, ragtime, swing and 1930s popular song Eddie has played the Cambridge Folk Festival on three occasions and toured widely. Before teaming-up with Frank again 6 years ago he produced a new CD, Red Shoes & Blues with ex Paulo Nutini harmonica virtuoso, Fraser Speirs.
Frank was a member of the famous Teesside Fettlers during a time that included appearances at the Royal Albert Hall such was the appeal of that North East folk supergroup in the '70s. For over 40 years his skill as both an acoustic guitarist and bass player has forever been in demand by the like of Vin Garbutt and Judith Haswell.
With their new CD, Old Friends-Full Circle, expect an evening capturing the essence of what they are about with lots of ''Fred and Ginger'' dance songs, Western Swing Teesside style, novelty tunes and ragtime, all performed on two acoustic guitars.
