Raised in the musical traditions of the Outer Hebrides, Josie Duncan has long been able to exercise a deep understanding of Scotland's music with her softly strong vocals, enthralling listeners everywhere. Since graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she has performed all over Europe to rapt audiences. Her approach to song although influenced by the tradition always feels modern, with a voice which is somehow delicately soft and yet rich and powerful at the same time.
On this tour Josie is accompanied by virtuoso guitarist Hamish Macleod. Although Hamish began his musical career learning and performing traditional music his playing now encompasses electronic, jazz and orchestral styles. His own bands have performed headline slots at major music festivals around the country and have been nominated for prestigious awards.
As comfortable calling a ceilidh as he is performing for muddy festival goers, Hamish's broad range of influences have produced a compositional and performance style which lend themselves to any application and he fits perfectly into a duo combination as Josie's accompanist.
"Effortlessly pure, supple vocals. It felt like a fresh breeze." - The Scotsman.
