THIS MONTH: EDITING with Funny Women Finalist, Maggy Whitehouse
What's the most annoying rule in writing? The bit that needs to come out is always the bit you love the most.
Maggy Whitehouse is a maverick priest,a stand up comedian and author of 17 published books.
Think Father Ted but in a slightly better cardigan. 'Brilliantly subversive,' Chris Brooker, Bigmouth Comedy, 2018.
Maggy's least favourite subject at school was précis which is why she became a radio journalist telling an entire story in 30 seconds, as well as an author, book editor and writing skills teacher focusing on honing, cutting and decimating. Maggy will teach you how to love paring your work to make it magnificent.
SHOWTIME: 8.00pm, FREE!
Funny Women knows that comedy can be scary, so this night provides a platform for women to get on stage and perform comedy for the first time. Even if you're already a regular on the circuit, Time of the Month is a great night to try out new material in front of a warm and supportive audience.
