An afternoon of traditional French dance and music workshops followed by an evening Bal.
Tickets are available for: the full event, for individual workshops or just the evening dance.
14.00-15.30 - Breton dance workshop. Yannick will be introducing Fest Noz dances both well known and less so. For beginners and improvers alike. Smooth soled shoes desirable. No partner necessary.
16.00-17.30 Ensemble music workshop by Steve Turner. For musicians who want to have a go at playing French and Breton music for dance. Bring your instruments.
16.00-17.30 'Mostly Mazurka' workshop by Annette Davies of Kantref. Mazurkas plus basics of some other couple dances. Suitable for beginners and more experienced dancers. Smooth soled shoes desirable. No partner necessary.
17.30-19.30 - Supper break and music session. If you would like to join us for a vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free supper you will need to order in advance with your tickets. See www.rondezvous.co.uk for menu (please email Rondezvous@hotmail.co.uk with any special dietary requirements). Alternatively try out one of the excellent local restaurants.
The music session is free with: workshop, Bal or full event tickets. Music will be available or email for copies in advance.
19.30-23.00 Evening Bal with music by: Kantref and Yannick & Steve. Kantref comprises a dynamic combination of accordion, guitar, fiddles, mandola, mandolin and bass whilst Yannick performs songs for dance accompanied by talented accordionist Steve Turner. Both bands deliver an exuberant and irresistible mix of French and Breton Dance music that will have everyone on their feet!
There is no licensed bar but you are welcome to bring a bottle. Tea and coffee will be available. The venue is fully accessible.
