It's been a long time coming but FINALLY the award winning Barking Tales do cometh to London. A safe space night where some of the most finest acts on the circuit come and do material / try out new bits that in some way relate to mental health. More often than not you'll be watching material that'll be bespoke to THIS night.
Gosh, what a line-up we've got for the first one -
Bobby Mair - is a Canadian stand-up comedian who has appeared on Killer Camp, Pants on Fire, Roast Battle, Bobby and Harriet Get Married, Russell Howard's Good News, Sweat the Small Stuff, Virtually Famous, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Sam Delaney's News Thing and 8 Out of 10 Cats. He has been tour support the likes of Jerry Sadowitz, Doug Stanhope and Bill Burr.
Harriet Kemsley - Kemsley began stand-up in 2011 and won the Funny's Funny contest. In 2012, she won Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year and Brighton Comedy Festival New Act of the Year and was named by Rhod Gilbert as one of the Ten Must See Comics of 2012. She co-hosts the very funny podcast, Why Is Harriet Crying?
Kemsley has appeared on Sam Delaney's News Thing, Roast Battle, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, 8 Out of 10 Cats. Bobby & Harriet Get Married and Pants of Fire.
As an actress, she has appeared in the film Bonobo and on TV on Damned and Doctor Foster. She also provided the voice of Nashandra, the final boss of the video game Dark Souls II.
Darren Harriott - Harriott is known to use comedy to address social issues he has experienced growing up, such as knife crime and gang culture.
He was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. His 2019 stand-up show (recorded for Radio 4) is titled Black Label.
Harriott has performed stand-up comedy on television shows Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard's Stand Up Central, as well as appearing on television comedy panel shows such as Mock The Week, and Hypothetical, Radio appearances include BBC Radio 4 shows Best of the Fest and The Now Show, and BBC Radio 5 Live comedy sports panel show Fighting Talk. He is the host of Newsjack - Unplugged and Comedy of the Week on BBC Radio 4 .
