"Her voice is amazing, think Islay whiskey, or tannin rich red wine - deep" - Lance, Bebop Spoken Here
In 2018, Jo recorded her first album of jazz standards, "Songs For The Late Hours", as well as performing a brand new show "Time & Place" at The Sage, Gateshead this summer, of original compostions written by North East pianist Paul Edis. In summer 2019, Jo collaborated with legendary music artist, Kid Creole of Kid Creole & The Coconuts, and his partner in crime, Peter Schott, and recorded vocals on their new orchestral project"Schott Treatment". The first single from the album,"Being" features the sultry tones of Jo's voice, and was released on the 9th September worldwide, available from all the leading music stores
Drawing on jazz, blues, soul & folk infuences, Jo delivers a song with depth and feeling, in her distinct rich, warm & smokey tone, that swings oh so cool.
And what a band she brings with her! We welcome Tony Kofi anytime he can be with us. The sight of him picking up his axe never fails to produce a tremor of excitement. Alex Webb plays the piano as nimbly as a fine dancer. Joel Prime was with us for the magical duo gig with Alina Bzhezhinska. Henry Gilbert is new to us, but must be superb to play in this company.
"This girl was born to sing jazz, all the warmth and sensibility to melt even the chilliest of hearts" = Blues & Soul Magazine.
