Saturday 21st March
Doors 7pm / Show 8pm
A brand new comedy night comes to Durham, with a spectacular line-up in store for the opening show at The Old Cinema Launderette. The Launderette Comedy Club welcomes the very best comedians from the comedy circuit with astonishingly good acts playing the quirkiest, most intimate comedy club the North East has to offer. With acts from TV and radio, the debut show sets a strong benchmark and is sure to sell out fast. With future shows lined up for May and June and headliners to come from Live at The Apollo and BBC TV, there's even more to look forward to.
This month welcomes headliner Lauren Pattison, who was nominated for best newcomer in the 2017 lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Geordie comic Pattison was previously a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Award 2016 and Chortle Student Comedy Awards 2015.
...a high gag count in this well-polished set Chortle
Lauren is joined by BBC Radio Newcastle host Louise Young. Louise hosts comedy radio show Grin Up North and recently had two comedy sketches for Channel 4 go viral. One of the best up-and-coming acts on the circuit, Louise is destined for big things and is a welcome addition to very strong bill.
"Louise Young is dynamite! Intelligent and street smart, she wins the entire room over with wonderfully written jokes, a spellbinding stage presence and the timing of a 20-year pro." - Punch Drunk Comedy
Other acts set to impress are Neil Harris, who was a Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year runner up and has some wonderfully original and inventive material.
Humble, slightly shy and very charming NARC Magazine
There's also talented newcomer Ken McGuinness whose intelligent, wonderfully crafted material is sure to impress.
Hilarious NE Volume
Each show will be hosted by Si Beckwith who is a much a respected and renowned comedian performing at comedy clubs up and down the country and whose trademark wit and warmth will make this the most welcoming and joyful comedy club.
