Description

Happy to be helping Mammoth Penguins with their SXSW Fundraiser! They are off to America to spread their indie love, and rightly so!

We've worked with Mammoth Penguins on a few shows in Oxford and were chuffed they asked us to help with their next London show - thanks!

For the uninitiated, Mammoth Penguins are a UK 3-piece indie pop powerhouse, showcasing the songwriting and vocal talents of Emma Kupa (Standard Fare, The Hayman Kupa Band, Suggested Friends) backed up by the noisiest rhythm section in indie pop.

Wonderfully awkward indie pop with a literate flair, sounding a lot like a Weezer record or even a more feminine Wedding Present Clash

Support from ace London bands Megaflora and Hive Mentality!

Megaflora bring their jangly, nature-themed pop-punk and play their first show of 2020 after releasing the Floating Island EP in Dec 2019! https://megaflora.bandcamp.com/album/floating-island

Lo-fi, scuzzy, weird indie punk from Hive Mentality who have released a stellar EP 'Is This Acceptable?' https://hivementalityldn.bandcamp.com/releases

Stoked by the bill!

Description

The stunning 50’s bar island takes centre stage in the venue, illuminated, and boasting the kind of drinks offer you’d expect to find; JaguarShoes classic cocktails, locally brewed craft beers and a selection of new and old world wines.

The VICTORIA has a long standing heritage as a music venue, we plan to maintain that under JaguarShoes, but it’s also a great pub and it feels like for a long time that’s been overlooked.

The focus at the Victoria is premium Rum which seemed the obvious choice given the Caribbean influence on the area in recent decades and the fact that rum is not quite so serious a companion as it’s peers… Rum, can just be fun!

The music room at The Victoria has been on the radar of gig goers for more than 3 decades and is one of the best live rooms in East London. Ben Heath, who owned and ran infamous Shoreditch club CATCH (2001-2009), joins the founders of DreamBagsJaguarShoes in recreating this club.

In the Spring of 2015 we re-launched the space independently to the pub, working with the industry’s best promoters and building an exciting a new programme of live music and club nights.
