Newhaven-based Dandelion Charm combine folk, rock and prog influences into a luxurious blend of intricate harmonies, soaring melodies, superb musicianship and heartfelt lyrics. Imagine Crosby, Stills & Nash meets Yes..
Very much a personal as well as a creative partnership Dandelion Charm sprang to life in 2015, the brainchild of John and Clare Fowler. With a background working in a commercial studio, John brings over twenty years of song writing and production experience to Dandelion Charm. Clare, meanwhile, is a long-time visual artist and performer and her love of storytelling manifests itself in her heartfelt lyrics and emotive delivery.
As Clare explains, The themes we deal with in our songs are not frivolous ones. They are all about aspects of real life, things that we've seen or been part of. Fear and self-doubt, optimism and determination, family, relationships and addiction are some of the emotions and situations we explore.
In November 2019 Dandelion Charm launched their third release 'Maybe Dreamers' to great critical acclaim. Maybe Dreamers is one of the best underdog albums of 2019 and is certainly one not to overlook, it sounds incredible, with writing that excels at engaging the listener and certainly worthy of your ears. ~ HiRes Edition review. The Universal Soundscape proclaimed Maybe Dreamers 'album of the month' (November 2019) and the track 'Isolate Resolve' was picked as a featured track on Radio Caroline.
As a live act Dandelion Charm have been wowing festival audiences, with slots at Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, the Cropredy Fringe and The Cambridge Rock Festival. Prestigious support slots for the likes of Gryphon, Trembling Bells and Lucid have won the band many new fans, not to mention the packed-out launch gig for Maybe Dreamers at the Brunswick in Hove, amongst many other memorable gigs.
Dandelion Charm band is: John Fowler (guitars, vocals) Clare Fowler (vocals), Jim Bryan (bass), Jeff Wraight (keyboards, backing vocals) and Ivan Pledge (drums).
